Fan Mosaics Gives You a Chance to Be Part of TNG's 25th Anniversary Celebration by Trek fm

Friday, September 28, 2012, officially marked the 25th Anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and to help celebrate Fan Mosaics is giving you a chance to send your photo to the 24th Century.

The official commemorative print follows on the heals of last year’s TOS offerings, and will use fan photos to create a beautiful rendition of the Enterprise 1701-D.

You can upload your photo at no cost through October 28 and view the final product on November 5, at which time you can order the 24” x 36” print if you so choose.

A special search tool allows you to locate your photo in the final print as you become part of television—and in fact human—history.

And if we may suggest… send in a photo of yourself doing a barrel roll.

Larry Nemecek Presents TREKLAND: On Speaker “Future Voices, Passed” by Trek fm

The digital age has brought us a wealth of supplemental material about Star Trek. But no one has spent more face time with the franchise’s actors and creators than “Dr. Trek” himself, Larry Nemecek.

Now, in the first disc of “TREKLAND: On Speaker,” Larry digs into his archives for interviews with Trek luminaries who have since left us. “Future Voices, Passed” offers never-before-heard material with Michael Piller, Mark Lenard, Jerry Fleck, and Bob Justman.

We had the pleasure here at Trek.fm of working with Larry on the project, as our publisher, Christopher Jones, designed the album packaging and worked on the audio along with Ted Peterson.

Larry offered the first disc as an exclusive at Star Trek Las Vegas earlier this month. The special con edition was limited to 50 discs.

For those interested who could not make it to STLV, Larry is making some additional copies available for purchase by mail. If you’re interested in picking up these rare interviews, drop Larry a line of over on his website larrynemecek.com.

For a preview, watch the video below, which we put together for Star Trek Las Vegas.

CraveOnline and La La Land Records Give a Glimpse “Behind the Score” of TOS by Trek fm

La-La Land Records has treated Star Trek fans to a steady stream of soundtrack restorations and special editions over the past year. But fans of The Original Series have yet to receive anything as satisfying as what the Burbank music company now has planned. For the first time ever, all of the music written and recorded for TOS will be available to fans in a special 15-disc CD collection.

This incredible set includes compositions by Alexander Courage, George Durning, Jerry Fielding, Gerald Fried, Sol Kaplan, Samuel Matlovsky, Joseph Mullendore and Fred Steiner. In addition, a 100-page booklet with in-depth notes has been prepared by Star Trek historian and film music journalist Jeff Bond.

Pricing and release date has not been set, and La-La Land Records is gauging consumer interest on their website. If you’d like to show your support for the Star Trek: The Original Series Soundtrack Collection and get more information as it becomes available, visit LaLaLandRecords.com.

It’s truly is beautiful, and there’s never been such an enlightening glimpse into the history of the future.
